How to Show Overdue Items in Reminders Badge Count

We know that the Reminders app shows us the tasks due today in the app’s badge count. With the iOS 16 update, you can also show overdue reminders in badge count. Here’s how you can enable this.

Show Overdue Items in Reminders Badge Count
In our Reminders guide, we have shown how you can use the app to manage your tasks with ease. The app is getting several new features, including a Template List, improved Smart Lists, and more. We use Reminders along with Logseq - our note-taking app - to manage all our tasks, and we couldn’t be happier. If you have not used the Reminders app in a while, we recommend you try it before discarding it for something fancy. With that out of the way, let’s get to our tutorial, shall we?
- Open the Settings app on your iPhone.
- Scroll down to find Reminders and tap to open it.
- Scroll to the bottom and enable the toggle for Include Due Today.
Now, the Reminders app will also show overdue items in the badge count.
Display overdue items in Reminders badge count
If there are tons of overdue items in Reminders, we recommend you clear them before turning on this feature, as it can be overwhelming to see too many pending items in the badge count.
