iPhone 16 Pro Apple Silicon Case Review - Worth the Price?
The Apple Silicon case is one of the only few cases for iPhone 16 Pro that comes with a Camera Control button instead of a cutout. In this article, I will dive deep into the iPhone 16 Pro Apple Silicon Case, exploring its design, features, and overall performance.

I have linked an article that covers all other cases with the Camera Control button. But today, let’s check out the Apple Silicon case. I am sure you have seen the Apple Case packaging before. It comes in a white cardboard box. There’s a tab at the back of the packaging that you can tear to get to your case.
The back of the case is made of silicon material, which feels smooth when the case is brand new.
The inside has a microfiber material lining that will keep your phone scratch-free. I like that the microfiber material stretches to the side rails of the case, something most companies don’t do.
On the side of the case, you can see the Camera Control button. I will talk more about it later. Let’s first put the case on our iPhone 16 Pro. I like how my iPhone recognizes the case and informs me with the charging chime. It also confirms that the case is MagSafe compatible.
Here’s how the Black Silicon case looks on my Desert Titanium iPhone 16 Pro. If you have used the Apple Silicon case in the past, the experience will be similar.
The case is grippy and offers precise cutouts for the charging port and speaker grills.
Even with the Benks screen protector installed on the iPhone 16 Pro, you get lip protection.
You also get the raised lips around the camera module, but not as much as with the PITAKA cases for iPhone 16 Pro I featured before.
What I like is the physical Camera Control button. It feels as good, if not better, than the iPhone’s Camera Control. The half-press gesture certainly feels better with the case on. You won’t face any issues using the Camera Control with the Apple Silicon case. This makes me wish that Apple still made leather cases as I would have loved a leather case with a Camera Control button.
As for durability, I have used Apple Silicon cases with my previous iPhones and found them to be okay. They can handle waist-level drops without any issue, but don’t expect any miraculous saves - if you say -drop your phone from the first floor of your building.
Now that we have covered all the positive points, let me mention two things that I don’t like about the case. The first drawback of this case is you have to clean it constantly. After a week or two, the silicon becomes very grippy and attracts dirt and lint.
You will also feel this enhanced grippy-ness or stickiness when using the Camera Control. Your finger will get stuck around the button. So, I recommend wiping the case whenever you get a chance.
The second drawback - which is not a dealbreaker - but still an issue are the rubbery buttons. They offer good tactility, but I would have preferred a metal button.
Overall, the Apple Silicon case is good, but you can get better cases at its $49.99 price point. However, most of those cases will offer a Camera Control cutout instead of a button. You will have to decide which sacrifice you are ready to make.
