IKEA Elloven Review: Best $30 I Spent Last Year

In my experience, the best product discoveries are often the ones you aren’t actively searching for—and that’s exactly what happened with the IKEA Elloven. While browsing IKEA’s website for a tabletop, I stumbled across this product and added it to my cart immediately. So let’s talk about it. 

What is IKEA Elloven?

IKEA Elloven is a desk monitor stand and organizer into one product. The outer shell is made of powder-coated steel and is available in black and white. I chose white color as it matches my monitor and desk aesthetics. It has a max load capacity of 44 pounds or about 20 kilograms, so you can place any monitor on it without bending or breaking it. 

The drawer is made of lacquered bamboo and feels premium. It already has built-in organization compartments for pens, notebooks, iPads, and other EDC items. 

The central big compartment measures 12 inches by 9.5 inches and can easily hold your big items. The long side compartment measures 2.5 inches by 9.5 inches, while the smaller compartment has a dimension of 2.5 inches by 6.25 inches. There’s also a small square compartment measuring 2.5 inches by 3 inches, perfect for storing small items like thumb drives and AirPods. 

The shelf has a depth of 1.33 inches. As you can see, I can store my iPad, notebooks, books, AirPods, Pens, and cables, and the drawer closes without issue. That said, the GameSir G8 Plus, which is my favorite iPhone handheld gaming controller, doesn’t fit. 

The shelf also has 1.75 inches of clearance under the bamboo drawer. After the work is done or you need extra space on your table, you can store your keyboard and mouse below the shelf. 

Why I love IKEA Elloven?

Since I purchased this product, not only does my monitor stand at the right height, but I also get extra storage, which helps keep my desk organized. Now, my desk looks tidy, and I can easily access all my tools. 

There’s no doubt this product is fantastic, but what truly makes it stand out is its price. For $30, you cannot find a better monitor stand with built-in storage. IKEA Elloven also looks quite chic and will go with any modern desk aesthetic. 

Finally, unlike most IKEA products, the Elloven desk stand doesn’t require assembly.  That's my quick review of the IKEA Elloven. If you’re in the market for a monitor stand, I highly recommend giving this one a try.
